Peter Pan and Wendy is a 2023 American fantasy film directed by David Lowery from a screenplay he co-wrote with Toby Halbrooks. The movie stars Alexander Molony (his film debut) and Ever Anderson. Development on the live-action Peter Pan film began on April 13, 2016, with Lowery directing. Lowery was announced to co-write the screenplay with Halbrooks, while the production team expanded over the next four years to work on the script for the remake. The film's title was announced on January 7, 2020. Production was supposed to begin in April 2020 and end in August of that year, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming finally began in March 2021 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Filming also took place on the Bonavista Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador in August 2021. Reshoots took place in Vancouver on February 2–8, 2022. Peter Pan and Wendy premiered on the Disney Channel on April 28, 2023 to positive reviews from critics.

In Edwardian London, Wendy Darling spends her last evening at home with her parents, George and Mary, and her two younger brothers, John and Michael, before going to boarding school the next day. Wendy is unhappy with her departure and tells her mother that she does not want to grow up. Later that night, Peter Pan appears at the Darlings' nursery school. Hearing of Wendy's wish, he claims that he has come to take her to Neverland, where she must never grow up. Peter's partner and friend, the fairy Tinker Bell, Wendy, John and Michael all fly to Neverland.

When they arrive, they are attacked by a pirate ship led by Captain Hook, who wants revenge on Peter for cutting off his right arm and throwing it to a crocodile. Hook and his first friend, Mr. Smee, fire a cannon at them, causing them to fall from the sky, and Wendy is separated from Peter and his brothers. He later meets Tiger Lily and the missing boys and witnesses John and Michael being captured by pirates. Hook and his crew take them to Skull Rock and chain them to the rock to drown due to the rising tide. Peter fights the captain while Wendy, Tiger Lily and the Lost Boys rescue John and Michael. Tick-Tock the crocodile finally pursues Hook and the pirates. Peter is proud of his victory, but Wendy scolds him for being careless, and the missing boys tell him that he has a complicated history with Captain Hook.

Retreating to Peter's hideout, Wendy sings a lullaby to the missing boys, who accidentally reveal their location to the pirates. Wendy learns from Tinker Bell that Captain Hook was once Peter's best friend, known as James, until he left Neverland and grew up to be a pirate. Hook's crew capture the Lost Boys and Darlings while the captain attacks Peter and pushes him off the deck. Peter couldn't fly away at this point and it looks like he will fall to his death. Hook reveals to Wendy the reason he left Neverland was because he missed his mother, but ended up lost at sea and found by Smee and the pirates who raised him. After returning to Neverland, Peter could not accept how much he had changed and they became enemies.

When Tiger Lily finds Peter and nurses him back to health, Hook forces Wendy to walk the plank, but she flies off at the last moment with Tinker Bell dust and happy thoughts of wanting to grow up. Tinker Bell then spreads dust over the ship to lift it into the air, allowing the Lost Boys to break free and fight the pirates. Peter arrives to confront Hook, and after a long duel, he finally apologizes to Hook for being a bad friend. When Wendy overturns the ship and the pirates fall, Peter tries to save Hook and encourages him to fly, but without happy thoughts he falls into the sea. Once home, Wendy introduces the Lost Boys to her parents and then talks to Peter on the roof of their house. Peter reveals that the house of the Darlings was his old home until one day he ran away and never returned. Wendy advises him to stay, saying that growing up could be his greatest adventure, but Peter feels that he is not ready for it. He says goodbye to Wendy and the lost boys and returns to Neverland with Tinker Bell.

In Neverland, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee survived the survivor's fall. Hook looks up to the sky and sees Peter returning to the ship, which makes him smile happily.
