Scream 6 Plot

A year after the Woodsboro murders of Richie Kirsch and Amber Freeman , Blackmore University professor Laura Crane is shot by her student Jason Carvey, who lures her to a New York bar and murders her while dressed as a ghost. Jason, along with his roommate Greg, plans to kill sisters Sam and Tara Carpenter to complete the "film" that Richie and Amber wanted to make. However, Jason receives a call from the other Ghostface who killed Greg and stabs Jason to death.

Sam and Tara now live in New York, and Tara attends Blackmore University with survivors Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin, her roommate Quinn Bailey, Mindy's girlfriend Anika Kayoko, and Chad's roommate Ethan Landry. Sam goes to Dr. Stone for therapy and is publicly rejected by an online conspiracy theory that he was the real mastermind behind the latest murders. Quinn's father, Detective Wayne Bailey, calls Sam in for questioning after his ID was found at the scene of Jason's murder along with the Ghostface mask used in last year's attacks. On the way to the station, Ghostface calls Sam on Richie's phone, who then attacks Tara, killing several bystanders and leaving behind another Ghostface mask used in the 2011 Woodsboro murders.

At the station, the siblings meet FBI Special Agent Kirby Reed, who survived the 2011 murders. They also meet journalist Gale Weathers, whom Sam and Tara resent for writing a book about their experiences. He reveals that Sidney Prescott and his family went into hiding in response to recent attacks. Ghostface murders Dr. Stone, who steals Sam's archives and leaves behind the mask used in the Hollywood murders. Ghostface later attacks the group at Sam and Tara's apartment, killing Quinn and Anika, but Sam's boyfriend Danny helps the others escape.
