Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is an upcoming American computer-animated superhero film starring the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales / Spider-Man. Produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation in association with Marvel Entertainment and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and is set in a shared multiverse of alternate universes called "Spider verse". The film is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson (directorial debut) from a screenplay written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and David Callaham. Shameik Moore voices Miles, starring Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson , Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Vélez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac. In the film, Miles travels across the multiverse with Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman, where he meets a new group of spider-people known as the Spider-Society, but finds himself at fools with them as a new threat.

Sony began development on the In the Spider-Verse sequel ahead of the film's 2018 release with its own writing and directing team. It was supposed to be about the relationship between Miles de Moore and Gwen de Steinfeld. The film was officially announced in November 2019 and animation work began in June 2020, with each of the six universes the characters visit having a different visual style.

- In December 2018, Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld were slated to reprise their roles as Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy from the first film. Lord and Miller have also expressed interest in including Spider-Punk, Takuya Yamashiro, the 1978 Spider-Man franchise from Japan, and the Italian Spiderman in future films. In November 2019, Lord announced that Takuya Yamashiro was in the works. In August 2020, Jake Johnson expressed his desire to reprise his role as Peter B. Parker from the first film in the sequel. - Christopher Daniel Barnes, who voiced Spider-Man in Spider-Man: The Animated Series, has also expressed interest in returning to the film. In April 2022, Brian Tyree Henry and Luna Lauren Vélez were confirmed to reprise their roles as Miles' parents in the first film, while Rachel Dratch was announced as Miles' school counselor. Lord, Miller and the directors announced in June that Jonathan Ohnn/The Spot will be the main antagonist of the film, with Jason Schwartzman providing the voice of Spot. Powers stated that Spot was one of the "deepest cuts in Spider-Man's rogues gallery," but the creative team was excited about his abilities, which allow the character to travel between universes.
